Mural Painting General Information
Is your organization ready to take the next step in creating a mural project? The first step of any mural project is determining the dimensions of the mural site. Most muralists base pricing off of square footage. If you have a large space, you can maximize your budget by planning your mural design to accommodate a lower price per square foot. The lowest end of professional mural painting would be $15 per square foot. If you are planning on a mural design with lots of detail, you should prepare to pay $30 or more per square foot.
Every artist prices mural differently, so it’s recommended to do thorough research on mural pricing. You can get a rough estimate on pricing by answering a few questions:
Is your mural wall/site single-story? (measuring under 9 feet from the ground?)
Is your mural wall/site structurally sound, secure and ready for paint to be applied?
Is your mural project within the Western Kentucky/Southern Indiana region?
Is your project timeline flexible?
If you answered yes to all the questions above, meaning you are ready to paint a single-story mural in the Western, Kentucky and Southern Indiana region, then it is likely you can plan a mural project up to 200 square feet, for a flat rate low as $3,000. This flat rate would include mural design, cost of supplies, project insurance, and mural installation.
If your mural project requires a larger square footage, additional travel, lifting equipment, or a rapid or short timeline, you can submit your project dimensions and scope and request a mural estimate.
