Frequently Asked Questions:

My business was nominated, but I’m not the owner what happens next?

  • The nominated business will need to gain permission of the building owners in written form to be considered for the awarded mural. The artist will contact the building/business owner according to the information provided in the nomination.

Can I remove my name from the pool of nominations?

  • Applicants and nominees have the right to ask for their information to be withdrawn and/or deleted from this application process. Please contact wingspanartist@gmail.com to be removed.

How long do I have to accept a nomination?

  • If a nominee does not qualify or agree to the above qualifications, or cooperate in a timely matter, then the artist may choose to pursue other nominations, and/or award the mural to a different nominee. The artist may choose to refuse a mural project for any reason. By accepting the award, the awarded nominee and involved parties agree to have the artist publicly share the award announcement.

Does my wall/building qualify for a free mural?

  • The mural site should be ready for the mural painting in the year 2021. The mural may or may not be awarded to a site/building that is under construction, or future/potential building or site that does not currently exist. The artist will not accept residential homes as nominations, however a building that has a multi-function use (example: first floor storefront with a loft apartment) may qualify.

Is mural maintenance provided for free?

  • The mural artist is not responsible for ongoing mural maintenance and/or cost of upkeep of the or mural site (wall, paint or masonry) or damages/vandalism to the site and/or surrounding area/location before, during or after the project time frame. The awarded party may choose to contact the artist to commission these services at an hourly rate.

How do I increase my chances of winning?

  • This is not a contest or sweepstakes, no purchases are necessary to enter or make a nomination. The number of nominations does not increase your chances of being awarded a mural.

I am interested in a mural larger than 6 feet, if I am nominated does that mean I get an automatic discount?

  • The free mural is not redeemable for other types of services and/or items of monetary value or any form of payment. If you are interested in commissioning a larger mural, please contact the art at wingspanartist@gmail.com.

Can I pick the design or request changes to the artist’s proposed design?

  • The free awarded mural is based on accepting a design provided by the artist. If a nominee wants to make changes to the design, or wants a custom mural, then the nominee may not be a good fit for this free mural project, but will be encouraged to contact the artist about mural rates.

I have more questions, who do I contact?
